SWEET PETITE CELEBRATIONS ANNOUNCES LUXURY MINI-WEDDINGS TO THE CAPITAL DISTRICT

Plans have changed, yet love has not. How this team is planning beautiful and intimate weddings during the pandemic.

Capital District (July 1, 2020) – Sweet Petite Celebrations is a new project for Melissa Brown of SBM Event Co. and a team of top-tiered wedding vendors. With the onset of COVID-19, the wedding industry was dramatically impacted. In a matter of weeks what would have been one of the busiest and most profitable wedding seasons was essentially wiped out with couples stranded in unknown waters.

Although many couples locked in their wedding date one, or two years in advance (2020 has a great ring to it), most have jumped ship to marry in 2021. To say this has been devastating to both the couples and the wedding industry is an understatement. This is where Brown quickly started brainstorming.

Brown created Sweet Petite Celebrations by inviting leading women in each major category of the wedding industry together. With the help of team members, Carrie Belinski of Blooms for Rooms, Kim Blair of Kim Trang Photography,  Lisa Shaul from the Sableweood at Highview Springs, Lauren Trudeau of True Beauty Company, and Katherine Wright of YTK Works, the group got right to work.

The biggest issue at hand has been “no mass gatherings”. As numbers of permitted groups dropped, “Marry now and party later” has been on trend with couples getting hitched on zoom in their backyards, the street, or town hall with nothing more than iPhone pictures and a less than dazzling atmosphere. The magic of the vow exchange seemed to have gotten lost.  This is where the SPC team created designed minimonies, and micro-weddings.

“Our event is designed to give couples a truly unique experience. We have selected a few special venues. Each venue will have its own look, feel, and design. It will be like stepping into the Pinterest board of your dreams and you don’t even have to lift a finger. From the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave, you will be pampered. Our goal is for you to get those butterflies back when you think about walking down the aisle.” Said Brown

The Sweet Petite Events is currently hosting three separate days at various venues in the capital region with plans to expand as restrictions are lifted. Each couple will receive a beautifully styled ceremony site, floral installation, bouquet and/or boutonniere, beauty services (within the CDC guidelines), customized ceremony with an officiant, ceremony music, private photography, and videography, live streaming link for guests, champagne toast, first dance, mini cake with cake cutting, and delicious light bites depending on your venue choice.

The cost of a wedding to this scale plus guests would price at $60,000 - $100,000+ but by keeping it petite the SPC Team is able to deliver a top luxury experience at a fraction of the cost. Experiences start at $3,500 per couple. For an even more intimate and meaningful celebration, experiences can be fully custom with a wide range of package additions.

Couples will fill out an application online so that the team can pair the specific style, needs, and most importantly dreams with the perfect venue and amenities. We even figured out how to keep you connected with all of your guests and loved ones.

“If you are in the wedding industry, you are a problem solver.” said photographer and videographer, Katherine Wright. “We work live events and you have to know how to think on your toes and come up with quick solutions while under pressure. The biggest problem I saw from the beginning of the pandemic was keeping people connected and making it special. By using technology to offer new services like live streaming, virtual guest books, zoom cocktail hours and FaceTime sessions with special family members, I have found that even though the day might not be what the couple originally planned, the ability to be together in whatever capacity isn’t taken for granted. Messages of love were sweeter and every second is savored.”
