KATIE & GEORGE

Our Story...
Our relationship began in college at Western New England University. After graduating, Beau got a job that required he relocate to Boston. For several years, we lived an hour and a half apart and spent any weekend we could together. After having enough of Sunday goodbyes and hours on the Mass Pike, I moved and we started our life together in Boston.
Fast forward a few years, Beau got down on one knee at the beach during golden hour when we were in Anna Maria Island on vacation. I couldn't believe the amazing surprise he pulled off. When it came time to pick a location for our big day, The Inn at Erlowest was an easy choice. I vividly remember the first time Beau brought me to Lake George. I spent my whole life being a “beach person”, but there was something about this lake that I immediately fell in love with. We spend a lot of time together there, so we couldn't think of a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding.
The forecast leading up to our wedding day looked terrible. After coming to terms with the fact that it would rain all day, the sun came out minutes after our first look. Our wedding was more amazing than we could have ever imagined, surrounded by our closet family and friends with incredible music, food, and a beautiful lakefront setting. We are so grateful for all of the amazing vendors who helped make our dream become a reality.
Advice to pass along...
Channel your energy into the things that you and your partner deem most important. So if that’s making sure your tables are set up a particular way, ensuring a certain song plays during cocktail hour, OR that you decide you need an ice cream truck one month before the big day – DO IT! It’s your day, go with your gut.
Special Touches
I wore my grandmother’s garter belt, worn by generations of women in my family at their weddings. There was a shelf at our reception with wedding photos of our parents and grandparents and a sign that read “The Love That Built Us”. Having simple yet meaningful tributes to family members made the day feel even more special.
