Our Story...
It was a long shot that Aaron and I ended up together! Aaron grew up in Ballston Spa, NY and I was raised in Anchorage, AK - quite a bit apart.
We both ended up in the Baltimore area as part of previous long-term relationships. When those prior relationships came to an end, we stayed in Maryland for what were then our current jobs.

After time spent reflecting and healing, we decided to try our luck at online dating. Aaron loves to point out that I was the first woman he matched with; unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky! Our first date was at an Asian restaurant, fittingly named Ni Hoa (Chinese for “hello”), where I honed my chopsticks skills and Aaron took maybe a little too much delight in my struggle to feed myself.
Shortly after our first date, Aaron departed for a backpacking trip through the UK. We spoke on the phone every day and night. Distance definitely made the heart grow fonder! When Aaron got back from his trip, we spent nearly every day together and began planning our future. After eight months, in July 2023, Aaron asked me to marry him. Yes!!!

We were married near Aaron's hometown in Upstate New York. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful! The rain cleared just in time for our outdoor ceremony and there were big, beautiful orbs of poplar seeds floating through the air. It really was magical!
Then, the next day it was off to Switzerland for our honeymoon…

Advice to pass along...
Stick by each other throughout the wedding as much as possible. This will allow you to create and share the same memories of the day.

The six pence in my shoe was given to my mom by my grandmother on her wedding day, passed to me on my wedding day. I hope to keep with this tradition.
