Our story goes back to 2012 when we first met at Siena College as freshmen. We had chemistry and shared a mutual attraction, but this adventure would not begin until years later.

Kevin spent a few years after college maturing from my memory of him as a freshman. He became a teacher and a baseball/football coach. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking, backpacking, and paddle boarding.

I became a traveling SLP. As a head strong, independent woman, I was convinced I would remain single and travel the world.  That is until Kevin changed my plans.

We ran into one another a few times after college, but our relationship did not start until Kevin saw a picture of me and decided to reach out and ask me on a date. I was living in MA and Kevin was in Saratoga, but Kevin convinced me to have dinner with him.

The first date was as though we had never lost touch. The date was not just dinner - it had to have some adventure involved, (a theme for us!). We rock climbed and went "caving" at A.I.R. (Albany’s Indoor Rock Gym).

This time around, we acted on our connection. We started spending every weekend together. In a couple months, I moved to the Capital Region, and not long after that, we moved into an apartment together. We continued to nourish our sense of adventure and travel, trying all sorts of new things.

We adopted a rescue dog, Zoe, around Christmas that year. This started a trend that our families hope will not continue. We adopted a kitten, Lili the next Christmas, and then a big pup named Finn the Christmas after that.

Between animal adoptions and a Saratoga battlefield proposal, we purchased our first home and did all the Do-It-Yourself home projects. In true fashion, we did not want a cookie-cutter new home, but one with character and a hundred-year-old story to tell.

Even COVID could not stop this wedding from happening. After postponing our original date (8/1/2020), we were married at Lakota’s Farm on August 6, 2022 surrounded by THE BEST family and friends, ENDLESS dancing, DELICIOUS food, and UNLIMITED beverages!

Special Touches...

  • Both the Lakota staff and my wedding planner went out of their way to set up special decorations/touches for our special day.
  • Picture frames off all the wedding photos from both sides of our family (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.)
  • Tons of mason jars filled with twinkle lights all over the venue.

Advice to pass along...

Don't lose sight of the purpose of the day. While planning, it may seem like a big deal if you choose the wrong flower arrangement or the wrong flavor cake, however no one remembers those things, including you. You will remember the joy, love and incomparable amount of fun you have celebrating on this special day. Everything else will not matter.
