We moved in together in the spring of 2011 and we've been together ever since. He has supported me and held down home base in Schaghticoke as I have traveled around NY state in pursuit of my dream to play and coach soccer. He has watched me play and coach, traveled with me, recruited with me, and always made the best out of each weekend we have together whether it is around a soccer event or just a weekend to relax.
Fittingly, in January 2018, John proposed in our hotel in Philadelphia while we were at a soccer convention. We wanted to enjoy planning our wedding without feeling rushed, so we chose June 2019 (between soccer seasons) to get married. We looked at 10+ venues before deciding on The Lodge on Echo Lake. We loved the Adirondack feel, the outdoor ceremony site options, and the cabins on location, for us and our guests.
Our wedding day in June was beautiful. It was much cooler than I would have expected but the weather was dry, and we celebrated with many of our family and friends. We wanted a laid back, fun celebration where everyone could enjoy themselves and that is exactly what we got. Our vendors were fantastic, and we are so thankful to all our guests who enjoyed the weekend with us!

Advice you would pass along:
Plan the wedding with your partner and enjoy the process. There are a lot of details but it doesn't have to be or feel rushed if you work together. Visit as many venues as you want until you find the one that you love AND it fits your budget. The Lodge on Echo Lake had everything we wanted/needed in one place and someone
to help us plan at no extra cost. It was a beautiful setting with little to no chaos in planning and no surprise expenses. We loved it!
