The stars aligned the night that Matthew and I met.

Matt races big block modified race cars at Lebanon Valley every Saturday night. It was a Saturday night, but Lebanon Valley was canceled due to rain. Matt decided to race at Fonda speedway instead.

I was in college at the time and one of my best friends David was racing at Fonda. Like Matt, I had never been to Fonda speedway before, but I decided to go with David that night to watch him race.

They parked next to each other, we met that night, and the rest is history!

It turns out we grew up only a mile apart from each other, but we met an hour away from our houses!

Matthew surprised me when he proposed to me in front of the Christmas tree lighting in Albany. It was a cold night, and I was watching football when he said they have fireworks at the Christmas Tree lighting tonight (we both love fireworks!) I really wasn’t that excited to go since it was cold and I was enjoying the game, but I didn’t want to disappoint him, so I said sure. Boy, was I glad I said yes (to both)!! I asked him afterwards what his plan was if I said no, he said he would have had to come up with something else!

We had originally planned to get married in June of 2020, but COVID threw a big wrench in those plans! We postponed the wedding to August 22, 2020, in hopes that things would be more "normal" then. Although things were getting better, we still had to have a very small ceremony/reception. We had just our immediate family and the wedding party at our special day. Although this is not what we planned, we would not have changed a thing! Our wedding day was so intimate and special. We got to spend our wedding day with those closest to us.

We are so thankful to all our amazing vendors that made our day PERFECT. I cannot say enough good things about the owner of June Farms, Matt Baumgartner. Although trying to plan a wedding during an unforeseen pandemic was very difficult, he was great.  It truly was the wedding of my dreams!!
